Six horses are brutally blinded with a metal spike in the dead of night. The question is not who, but why? Child psychiatrist Dr. Martin Dysart must discover the motives behind seventeen-year-old Alan Strang’s atrocious acts, but the deeper he digs into Alan’s troubled psyche, the more his own repressed truths begin to surface. Winner of the 1975 Tony Award for Best Play, this chilling memory play explores how obsession and shame can bridle our never-ending search for purpose, meaning, and truth.
