How far will a family go to keep their secrets buried? Set in a Southern Illinois Sunset Town for this production, this Pulitzer Prize-winning drama is a powerful and haunting portrayal of the crumbling myth of the American family. Vince returns home to his family's farm, where his father festers over old wounds as Grandpa drinks himself to avoid a not-all-there Grandma. Strangely, no one seems to recognize Vince. Hardly the homecoming he expected, a history of hurt and betrayal emerges as the family's darkest secrets are unearthed from the barren corn fields.

"Director Dane Eissler understands that what makes Buried Child worthy of its Pulitzer

is Sam Shepard's uncanny intertwining of humor and horror. [...] Eissler's recent production

at the EgoPo Classic Theater embraced the macabre humor of Buried Child with gusto

for a grotesque and powerful interpretation.” -Talkin' Broadway

"As the scenarios get more absurd, Eissler and a strong ensemble cast deliver Shepard’s

electrifying dialogue cycles that resonate more than ever 40 years later.” -Culture Vulture
